Music Information

Music Collection

The Music Collection at Greenwich Library includes books, magazines, sound recordings, music scores, libretti, electronic databases and streaming audio/visual media. The Library shelves hold more than 26,000 CDs from all genres, which can be enjoyed at listening stations. Streaming and downloadable music are also available for cardholders.

Greenwich Library is significantly repurposing and enhancing our Main Building to meet the changing needs of the community. For approximately 10 weeks starting July 22, the Music CDs and Scores will be placed in temporary storage. We recommend accessing our Digital Library to find your favorite streaming and downloadable titles.

Musical Staff Pick

John ScofieldJohn Scofield albums never disappoint and his most recent release, Combo 66, is high on my list of favorites among the jazz guitarist’s releases over the past thirty years. The leader’s string-bending soulfulness, idiosyncratic harmonic sense, and intermittent but effective shredding make for fascinating listening. Most of the songs depart from conventional structure and after a couple of hearings are pleasingly assimilated. – David, Music Librarian
