A Letter From Our New Library Leadership

We are thrilled to introduce ourselves to you as Greenwich Library’s new Library leadership: Director and Deputy Director.

While we are new to these positions, we have both worked at the Library for many years. Joe joined as Deputy Director in 2015 and Kate as the Information Services Manager in 2017. We’ve helped lead many initiatives, including the ReImagine Renovation and strategic planning.

We are excited to move into these new positions and are especially aware of the critical role Greenwich Library serves in promoting knowledge, culture, and education within our community. Libraries have been and continue to be the best expressions of civic life and strong communities.

The next three years will be busy ones for us. The Board of Trustees has approved a new strategic plan, Greenwich Library Reconnects. This plan, made clear by the title alone, reflects our essential task in bringing the Greenwich community together after some very difficult recent years.

In this strategy, you will find that we will continue to improve the high-quality resources, services, and programming that Greenwich Library has always offered since it was first established in the late 19th century.

We look forward to continuing to support this institution as one of the best in the country!

Warmly,
Your New Greenwich Library Leadership Team:
Joe Williams, Director
Kate Soboleva, Deputy Director
