Build your Dewey Decimal skills. Take responsibility for shelves at Greenwich Library. Come in during Library hours at times that work for you to make sure the books are in order. Get to meet and work with the amazing Library staff. A half hour training session is required.

WHAT WILL I DO?

Help to check in registered families at performances for kids hosted by the Friends of Greenwich Library in the Berkley Theater.

HOW OFTEN IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?

Two hours in the Fall and Spring.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The Flinn Gallery is a non-profit, education-oriented exhibition space that presents art in all mediums in 6 curated exhibits per year. Volunteers attend committee meetings and staff the Gallery desk one morning or afternoon per exhibit. Volunteers also assist with opening receptions and with the installation or takedown of an exhibit once or twice per season.

Are you a film buff? The Friday Film Advisory Board seeks members with deep knowledge and enthusiasm for film as we work to curate another successful season of weekly films and monthly conversations with industry insiders.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The OHP conducts and preserves interviews with people who have helped to make or witnessed the history of Greenwich since 1890. It has conducted over 1,000 interviews. The project needs volunteers to conduct oral history interviews, proofread and index interview transcripts, help with design and graphics, and publicize the collection. A two-session class in oral history interviewing is provided.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The Outreach Committee with the Friends of Greenwich Library supports children in the Armstrong Court Headstart Program and seeks to connect those families with resources in the Library’s Children’s Room.

HOW OFTEN IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?

Two hours a month minimum.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The Performing Arts Committee produces 5+ performances per year in the Berkley Theater and seeks to bring world-class dance, music, theater, and comedy to Greenwich. Volunteers are needed at all levels.

HOW OFTEN IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?

Bi-weekly committee meetings and availability to assist with five performances per year.

WHO CAN APPLY?

High school students in grades 9 – 12 who live in or attend schools in Greenwich.

WHEN CAN I START?

All volunteers must attend an orientation, held by appointment, before they begin volunteering. Volunteers are required to work a minimum of a two-hour shift. Available days and times are Monday through Friday 9 am – 9 pm, Saturdays 9 am – 5 pm, and Sundays 1-5 pm.

WHAT WILL I DO?

As a part of this program, you will help patrons using public computers or who attend the Library’s Tech Help program. Help them to navigate and use their devices comfortably!
