The Infiltrator (2016) is based on the true story of the takedown of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. Bryan Cranston plays a US Customs Agent (Robert Mazur), who manages to infiltrate Escobar’s drug cartel. Mazur befriends Escobar, and wins his trust. He talks Escobar into using his money laundering operation to clean the dirty drug money. Once he has enough evidence, authorities move in and arrest Escobar and his cronies. John Leguizamo (Emir Abreu) plays his partner, who helps him with the scheme.
I missed the movie in the theater, and decided to download it through our movie database Hoopla. There were many suspenseful moments when Mazur almost blew his cover. He had to improvise on several occasions. The acting was superb, as well as the special effects. It was rather long (over 2 hours), but well-worth the time. I would recommend this movie highly to anyone who is a Bryan Cranston fan!
