Getting Started with RBDigital

(Magazines, audiobooks, eBooks, Qello, IndieFlix, Great Courses, AcornTV)

Setup

  1. From a browser (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox) go to https://greenwichct.rbdigital.com/ and select Register (top right) to create a new account.
  2. You will be asked to create a user name and password, as well as enter your email and Library card number.
  3. Now that you’ve created an account, you can install the free RBdigital app onto your mobile device from the Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad), Google Play store (Samsung, Android Devices), or Kindle store (Kindle Fire).
  4. Once you’ve installed the app onto your mobile device, follow the prompts – enter username or email and the password you created during the account creation process.

Browsing & Borrowing

  1. To search, tap the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen. Choose whether you would like to search for Audiobooks, Magazines or eBooks. Enter your search term in the box and press the magnifying glass to begin the search.
  2. To browse, tap the navigation bar (3 horizontal lines) at the top left of the screen to browse by category.
  3. Once you find an available title, tap “Checkout” or “Hold” below its image.
  4. Once you’ve checked out an item, you can tap “Read” (for eBooks and Magazines) or “Play” (for audiobooks). You can also choose to “Download” onto your device for offline enjoyment (i.e. airplane, train, car, where there is limited/no Internet connectivity).
  5. At any time, you can get back to the Library’s collection, or view what you have checked out, by tapping the navigation bar (3 horizontal lines) at the top left of the screen.
  6. You can borrow up to 15 eBooks or audiobooks at a time, and unlimited magazines. Returns are automatic and there are no late fees.
  7. To access streaming video content from Acorn (BBC), The Great Courses, Qello (Concerts) and IndieFlix go to the navigation bar (3 horizontal lines), and tap on the “Entertainment” option. The first time you access Acorn, Great Courses, Qello or IndieFlix, you may be prompted to “set password” or “Create an account.” You do not need to create a new account, simply enter the password and/or the email address you used to create your RBdigital account, and you will have unlimited access to the content for 7 days.
  8. To browse, borrow and access RBdigital content from a desktop or laptop computer, simply open any browser (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox) go to https://greenwichct.rbdigital.com/ and log on to your account.

Return or Renew

  1. Return a title from the Checked-Out tab by tapping the X on the top right of the cover image.
  2. Another option is to tap the book cover to open the details page. From this page you can select RETURN or RENEW. If the book has a hold already placed by another user, you will not be able to renew but will be able to put a hold on the book.
