All the Money in the World
If you haven’t already seen it, you’ve got to see the 2017 movie All the Money in the World.
It’s based on the true story of the kidnapping of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty’s grandson. While traveling in Italy, John Getty III is kidnapped and held for ransom. His grandfather refuses to pay any ransom because it would set a bad precedent. He claims kidnappers would go after his other grandchildren.
The kidnappers then turn to the mother. She’s got the Getty name, but none of the Getty fortune. Her husband takes a job with his father. Unfortunately, the wealth has turned him into a drug addict. He is completely useless in this situation.
One of the kidnappers takes a liking to Paul III and helps him in some tough situations.
The cast is solid. It includes Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg and Christopher Plummer. There are several twists and turns, and we get a unique look at Getty who was once the richest man in the world.
