Express Browsing by Appointment

Scour the shelves and check out new books, Express Collection books, children’s books, YA books, audiobooks, large print titles, travel guides, DVDs and CDs, and Japanese books. Schedule to visit Greenwich Main Library and its Children’s Room, Byram Shubert Library, or Cos Cob Library.

  • Available only to Greenwich Library cardholders.
  • Same day or next day appointments are available for 20 minutes and must be made in advance using the links below.

Appointments for Express Browsing are available during the following times:

  • 1 – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday (all locations)
  • 12 – 3 p.m. Saturday (all locations)
  • 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Main Library
  • 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday at Cos Cob
  • 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday at Byram Shubert

No-Contact Pick Up

Place holds on books and materials in the Library catalog using the same process as in the past. Once your books and materials are ready, you’ll get an email with a link to a form to choose the date and time for pick up.

Innovation Lab

Discover the state-of-the-art technology and equipment available to use with an appointment and a Greenwich Library card. Ages 13 and up. Whether you are an artist, tinkerer, techie, or just curious, there is something for everyone in the Innovation Lab!

Computers & Printers

Set an appointment to access the Library’s computers, printers, scanners, and copiers. Computers and other equipment are limited to one appointment per patron, per day with a 30-minute limit. Only one person is allowed at a computer at a time.

Safety Guidelines

In order to ensure the safety of staff, patrons, and volunteers, please adhere to the following:

  • Appointments are available to active Greenwich Library cardholders.
  • Innovation Lab appointments are now available to those ages 13 and up.
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Appointment holders should prepare to show their Library card or driver’s license to verify eligibility. To renew an expired card, call us in advance at 203-625-6524.
  • Once inside the building, all visitors will check-in at the Welcome Desk.
  • Patrons are required to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose at all times and sanitize hands with supplies provided. Children age 2 and older must wear a mask (per CDC guidelines).
  • Staff and patrons must maintain social distance of at least six feet.
  • No food or drinks are permitted; the water fountain will not be available.
  • First-floor restrooms will be available on a limited basis.
  • Elevators to the 3rd-floor Children’s Room are limited to two passengers or one family at a time.
  • Anyone showing signs of illness should refrain from coming into the Libraries.
