Computer Services by Appointment at Byram Shubert Library

Greenwich Library will continue its phased re-opening process on Thursday, July 9, when you will be allowed to enter the lower level of the Byram Shubert Library to access computers, printers, scanners and copiers by appointment. The collections will remain closed. Additional phased openings are planned at the Cos Cob Branch Library and Main Library over the summer!

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

In order to ensure the safety of staff and patrons by allowing for social distancing inside the Library, all services will be available by same-day or next-day appointments only to Greenwich residents and Greenwich Library cardholders who are 18 or older.

Please call (203) 625-6596 to schedule an appointment.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS?

Access will be available during the same hours as No-Contact Pickup:

  • Monday-Wednesday, 10-4
  • Thursday, 1-7
  • Friday and Saturday, 10-4

HOW LONG CAN I USE A COMPUTER?

Computer usage will be limited to one appointment per patron, per day with a one-hour limit. If no one is waiting and there are no appointments following, it may be extended for another 30-60 minutes. Only one person will be allowed at a computer at a time.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS?

All Library users are required to wear a mask at all times while in the building, and social distancing will be enforced. We also require that you sanitize your keyboard and mouse before and after using a computer with the supplies provided. Library staff will also monitor shared spaces and clean the printer, copier, and other equipment regularly. Computers will be spaced a safe distance apart. Library staff will remain six feet away from patrons when providing computer assistance.

CAN I PRINT REMOTELY AND PICK UP?

If you prefer to print from home wirelessly, you can send your print jobs, and call the Library to schedule a time to pick up. Please bring coins and small bills; staff will not handle money or make change.

CAN I BROWSE THE SHELVES?

Library visitors will not be able to browse books (or other library materials) on the shelves.  No-Contact Pick Up continues: you can place holds on items and schedule a No-Contact Pickup time at the Library of your choice!
