Assistive Technology Update

Just a reminder that Greenwich Library remains steadfast in it’s goal to provide resources and services to promote accessibility to members of the community who have disabilities.  You can log onto our Accessibility page online, but you might also be interested in some of the devices & software we offer within the library.

For example we offer on a designated public computer JAWS software, which can read aloud word documents and certain web pages/sites on the Internet.  We also offer the DaVinci magnifier which is a desktop video magnifier (CCTV) featuring full HD, selective text-to-speech (OCR), and a 3-in-1 camera. Davinci will also read any text out loud.  And we also have the Optelec ClearView+ magnifier!

Go onto our Accessibility page to learn more about this technology.  And if you’re in the library or calling/emailing from home, ask our ADA Librarian Ed Morrissey about these services.  Ed can be reached at (203) 622-7918 or at emorrissey@greenwichlibrary.org .
