Who we are
Everyone who makes a contribution to the Greenwich Library is known as a "Friend of the Greenwich Library." Donations to the Friends support a wide variety of programs and services that are run by the Board of the Friends of the Greenwich Library and that are available to the community at no charge.
Programs and services include Children’s Events, Friday Films, Cole Concerts, Flinn Gallery, trips, the Oral History Project, The Poet's Voice Series, Children’s Outreach, Selective Eye (author series), the Book Brigade and staff education.
Friends contributions make programs like the following possible:
- Children’s Concerts such as Princess Katie and Racer Steve
- The longstanding Friday Film Series
- Four Cole Concerts, including the esteemed Musicians from Marlboro, and Peng Peng
- A trip to Mark Twain’s home, Morgan Library, and Dia Museum
- Retrospective exhibits by Robert Kaupelis and Barbara Rothenberg in the Flinn Gallery
- Selective Eye Author Series presented Greenwich native Dorothy Hammill and other authors
- The Oral History Project celebrated 35 years
- Children’s Outreach provides trips to the Library and reading programs
- Book Brigade volunteers recycle discarded books for sale in the Library café
- Three staff members pursued higher education degrees
