When visiting Yale, Da was inspired by his encounter with a statue of the first Yale graduate to be beheaded in China's Box Rebellions in 1896. The result is his latest novel, where Da takes us back to 19th century imperial China and explores the "ever-tumultuous relationship between love, madness, and obsession." There will be a book sale and signing after Da's talk and reading. Light refreshments will be available. Registration begins on October 10th for this event.
