Comic book and graphic novel fans from grades 7-12 (and earlier grades; we're not fussy) can now get together on the first Monday of every month to discuss their favorite titles and current trends in the genre. On Monday, May 6th, Greenwich Library's Comic Book Club will meet to discuss their mutual love for comics.
Members can bring their own copies or borrow ones from the library. You can share your love for your favorite series with fellow fans and maybe even discover new titles you weren't aware of.
All meetings will be held in the Teen Central area on the second floor beginning at 7:00 pm. For more info, click here.

Our volunteer advisory group, the Student Leadership Council, consisting of students from grades 7-12, will get together at Teen Central on the second floor this Wednesday, May 1st beginning at 7:00 pm. They'll discuss using library resources to initiate, develop & realize projects relevant to their peer group in exchange for community service hours. For more details, click here.
Students assist the library to provide essential programs to their particular age group as well as contributing to the library community. So come prepared! Snacks & refreshments will be served. Greenwich Library will host an event spotlighting the Doctor beginning at 7:00
pm on Thursday, March 28th in the second
floor Meeting Room.
Students from grades 7-12 are welcomed to dress as their favorite character from the series and take part in showing off your own handmade "Sonic Screwdriver", TARDIS and other gadgets. s part of our 2013 Greenwich Reads Together Program, the Rotary Club of Greenwich will sponsor an essay contest for students in grades 6-12 attending school in Greenwich. Two $250 cash prizes will be awarded, one for grades 6-8 and one for grades 9-12, to students whose essays are judged to be the best in answering the question: How does your reading of When the Emperor was Divine (or Eyes of the Emperor) affect your thinking about prejudice toward immigrants and other minorities in the United States today? In your response, you may want to consider other historical moments of scapegoating. The deadline to submit your essay is April 24, 2013. See details here.
Greenwich Library invites you to celebrate Teen Tech Week through "Check In @ Your Library" March 10-March 16. The Library is full of tech toys like video games, CDs, and DVDs as well as downloadable books, music and magazines. And, of course, we're a great place to get connected to online homework help, research resources and so much more.
We kicked things off last night with a program on careers in the music industry with MTV's Todd Rose (see below).
Other ways you can "Check In @ Greenwich Library" during Teen Tech Week, includes downloading free music from Freegal, following us on Facebook and Twitter, and downloading ebooks through Overdrive. For more information, click here.
Todd Rose, Manager of Music Properties at MTV, will speak to middle and high school students on Monday, March 11 at 7 pm in the library's second floor Meeting Room.
Todd handles music programming for Clubland, MTV's new EDM (electronic dance music) based show, as well as manages all music video acquisitions across MTV, MTV2, MTVU, MTV Hits and VH1.
After graduating from Drexel University's Digital Media program in 2005, Todd moved to NYC to join the MTV Music & Talent department after a 6 month internship that helped to open many doors and lead to a career in the Music Industry.
Todd will talk about working at MTV, how he got into the business and share his advice on careers in the music industry. Please come and join us for this informative and exciting program on March 11th. More details here.
