Greenwich Library's Middle School Book Club will be meeting on Thursday, May 24th at 4:30 pm in the Meeting Room. The title for discussion is "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park. Here's a short summary:
"When the Sudanese civil war reaches his village in 1985, eleven-year-old Salva becomes separated from his family and must walk with other Dinka tribe members through southern Sudan, Ethiopia, and Kenya in search of safe haven. This 2013 Nutmeg Award nominee is based on the life of Salva Dut, who, after emigrating to America in 1996, began a project to dig water wells in Sudan."
If you're in grades 6, 7 or 8, you can register for the program and pick up a copy of the book at the 2nd floor reference desk. Please contact Teen Services Librarian Margaret Walsh at (203) 622-7915 for more information.
