myers.png"Reading is Not Optional" - This is a quote from our national Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Walter Dean Myers, who leads the campaign to raise awareness of the importance of reading for young people.  Mr. Myers is a prolific author for young adults who address the problems faced by urban kids head on in his writing.  Some of his notable works for teens include Monster,  Autobiography of My Dead Brother and Slam.  Read this article from the New York Times and view the video below to learn more about Walter Dean Myers and why he was chosen for this honor.
