...begins tomorrow, September 25th and continues until October 2nd. This event is observed by libraries (like us) around the country to remind every citizen that intellectual freedom should never be discarded because somebody doesn't like what an author has written. BBW stresses the importance of making available all different kinds of opinions and viewpoints to the community without fear of censorship or intimidation , as well as protecting the rights of all to choose and make their own decisions.
Check out our Banned Books Week page here and the BBW page on FaceBook and be sure to look up the titles that are among the "Ten Most Challenged Books of 2009". More importantly, take this opportunity to celebrate your right and freedom to read anything you want.
