A riveting account by two New York Times
reporters taken from interviews, transcripts & emails describing the situation
inside the World Trade Center during the September 11 terrorist attacks. The
authors really bring to life the confusion and fear present on that day, as well
as the great acts of courage. I came away with deep admiration for the many
civilians who put themselves in danger to save others, in addition to the
firefighters and police. Perhaps most disheartening, though is the political
infighting that contributed to many preventable deaths. After finishing it, I
felt very similar to the way I felt on that day,in a daze from a mixture of awe
and disbelief.
