As a member of the renowned musical trio, he has earned many gold and platinum album awards and has been nominated for, and awarded, numerous Grammys. Peter Yarrow's talent as a creative artist - both in a group and as a solo performer - is in using music to convey a message of humanity and caring.
His gift for songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs Peter, Paul & Mary have recorded, including "Puff, the Magic Dragon," "Day is Done," and "Light the Candle."
In 1999, Yarrow's philosophy, talents and connections culminated in the founding of Operation Respect, an anti-violence and anti-bullying organization that promotes the infusion of character, and social and emotional learning principles into school curricula through transformational music. Toward this end, Operation Respect created the Don't Laugh at Me Program. The centerpiece of the program is the song, "Don't Laugh at Me," sung by Peter, Paul and Mary.
The Peterson Concert Series is open to all at no charge through the support of the Peterson Foundation. Doors open at 3:00 p.m.; seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
