After more than a decade of penning bestsellers in her KEY News Thriller series, author Mary Jane Clarkhas created a new backdrop for her suspense novels. Clark will discuss To Have and to Kill, the inaugural book in the Wedding Cake Mysteries series, as part of AuthorsLive@GreenwichLibrary on Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m., in the Greenwich Library Meeting Room. Clark's originally scheduled visit in February was postponed due to snow.
To Have and to Kill is centered on struggling actress Piper Donovan, who fresh off her broken engagement, is forced to move back in with her parents and reluctantly steps into the family bakery business. After Donovan agrees to create the wedding cake of a friend and daytime TV star, she soon finds herself entangled in a murder mystery that could derail the nuptials.
"With romance, family relationships, sweets and suspense, To Have and to Kill has something for every reader," Clark said.
Clark spent three decades at CBS News' New York City headquarters where she worked her way through the ranks to become a producer and writer after graduating with degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Rhode Island.
Her first books came from that experience. She developed KEY News, a fictional television new world where the characters go out into the world to cover their stories and get involved in mystery and suspense.
AuthorsLive@GreenwichLibrary, our ongoing author series, is free and open to the public. Just Books will provide copies of the book, which will be available for purchase and signing at the event. For more information, please contact Marianne Weill at 203-622-7933.
