P.V. O'Donnell entertained Greenwich Library crowds for eight years with his mix of Irish charm, fine fiddling, incredible vocals and witty banter.
Sadly, O'Donnell passed away on January 28. However, his friends will carry on the tradition with a tribute concert in memory of the Donegal fiddler on Saturday, March 12, at 2 p.m., in the Cole Auditorium at Greenwich Library.
Danny Ringrose, guitar and vocals; Loretta Murphy, button accordion; and Jeanne Freeman, fiddle, who often appeared with O'Donnell on the Cole Auditorium stage, will honor O'Donnell.
Ringrose, a Connecticut native with more than 20 years of performance experience, has drawn superb reviews throughout the United States and Ireland. Audiences enjoy tender ballads, tunes of drinking and merriment, sea shanties and silly ditties. Though his focus remains on Irish music, Ringrose also sings a variety of American folk and contemporary tunes.
The concert is free and open to the public. Doors open at 1:45 p.m. For more information, please call Alice Bonvenuto at (203) 622-7919.
