Let The Greatest Party Ever begin when Tim and the Space Cadets blast-off with an infectious and engaging concert on Saturday, March 5, at 2 pm, in the Cole Auditorium.
Tim and the Space Cadets write songs about the important things in life: snow days, pizza parties and summer vacations. The secret to their success is an ability to craft songs that exclude no one. They have achieved "a level of catchy power pop that pleases young kids as well as their older siblings," said Time Out New York.
Their first single, Superhero, hit No. 1 on the XMKiDs chart just a month after it was released, and stayed atop the charts for six weeks. The Space Cadets' debut album The Greatest Party Ever weaves witty, fun, and heartwarming lyrics through textured pop tunes, rockers and lullabies.
Tim Kubart formed Tim and the Space Cadets in 2009 after four years as a professional kids' musician, and set out to make radio-friendly pop rock for all ages. The Space Cadets have built up a huge following in New York City and have started to expand to the rest of the country -- their biggest show to date was Lollapalooza in 2010.
Sponsored by the Friends of Greenwich Library's Children's Series, the concert is appropriate for children ages 4 and up. Pick up free assigned seating tickets (limit six per person) at the auditorium doors at noon. Return when doors open at 1:50 pm.
