There is no "correct" interpretation of a musical work. Nor does one have to be a musician to critique a given performance. Analyze and express your views on classical works when Mortimer Frank hosts Be Your Own Music Critic, Tuesday, November 23, at 7 p.m., in the Greenwich Library Meeting Room.
Drawing upon a variety of recorded performances, these lectures will offer works from the Baroque to the 20th century. Divergent interpretations will be presented, and basic musical forms will be discussed. When possible, a newly released recording will be offered for group evaluation.
Frank, a widely published critic, currently teaches at the Juilliard School and New York University.
