Conquer the College Admissions Essay

High school seniors have enough worries to agonize over. Don't let the college admissions essay be one of them. Come get tips that will ease the process of writing an introspective essay that will win over college admissions people when Alan Gelb, author of Conquering the College Admissions Essay in 10 Steps, visits the Greenwich Library on Saturday, October 2, at 1 p.m., in the Meeting Room.

Gelb will teach you how to identify engaging essay topics and how to use creative writing techniques to craft a narrative that expresses your unique personality, strengths and goals.

Gelb is an independent marketing consultant for colleges and universities. His novels and nonfiction have been published by G.P. Putnam's Sons, E.P. Dutton, St. Martin's Press, Dell and Avon, and he has contributed articles to The New York Times Magazine, Parents Magazine and others.

This program is free and open to the public. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. For more information, please contact Teen Services Librarian Margaret Walsh at (203) 622-7915.
