Get the best insider tips on how to find grants and sway funders as the Greenwich Library continues its @sk the Expert series with Grants for Individuals on Friday, July 23, at 11 a.m., in the Meeting Room.

Judith Margolin, an independent consultant on foundations and grants, will provide a thorough introduction to everything the individual grant seeker needs to know about seeking funding from foundations and other sources.

British author Alison Weir will take you inside her latest novel Captive Queen as part of AuthorsLive@GreenwichLibrary on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m., in the Meeting Room.

Captive Queen is based on the life of Eleanor of Aquitaine, the French queen whose marriage to the future King Henry II would usher in the Plantagenet Dynasty. Weir crafts a work of historical fiction that brilliantly enriches and casts new light on this legendary story.

Casey Carle's Bubblemania will kick off Greenwich Library's 2010 Summer Reading Program on Saturday, June 19, at 2 pm, in the Cole Auditorium. Bubblemania will feature amazing tricks such as giant floating bubbles up to six feet in diameter, bubbles that bounce, hands-only bubbling and more. Raffles and refreshments will follow the performance, which is suitable for children ages 4 and up.

"Make a Splash--Read!" is the theme of this year's Summer Reading Program. The Summer Reading Club, for students grades K-5, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games, incentives and a summer full of special programs. The Greenwich Library will roll out a host of special events throughout the summer, in addition to story times, books clubs and craft programs, that will help foster a love of reading in children.
