'State of the Art Jazz' Show at Greenwich Library

Ground-breaking big band New York State of the Art Jazz Ensemble (NYSAJE) will bring their Big Apple innovations in rhythm to the Cole Auditorium at Greenwich Library on Sunday, October 11, at 3:30 p.m.

Led by Mike Longo, former music director for Dizzy Gillespie, the NYSAJE is comprised of the finest ensemble players and soloists in New York. This 17-piece band thrills audiences with its combined power, precision and polish.

Gershwin, Ellington and more contemporary composers are all represented in NYSAJE's repertory. The ensemble has produced three highly acclaimed albums.

"Mike Longo provides the big band ensemble with the orchestral elements that lift it to heights of great expression, never leaving or abandoning the earthy, compelling groove of the music," said Al Trainer on JazzBeat.com.

The NYSAJE will perform at Greenwich Library (101 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT) as part of the Peterson Concert Series. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, please call David Waring at (203) 622-7917.
