"Increased circulation at Greenwich Library has meant longer lines at all checkout stations. The Express machines are easy to use and will reduce lines at the service desks by offering a self service," said Elaine Tai-Lauria, Lending Services manager.
Two units are located on the first floor of the Main Library, and one unit in the Children's Room. The Children's Room unit is a new point of service in the Library and will be placed at a convenient height for children and will also be ADA accessible. Shortly, an Express Checkout machine will be available at the Byram Shubert Library and a unit is scheduled for next year at the Cos Cob Library.
Lending staff will provide demonstrations of the new machines during the week from August 24-28 to familiarize patrons with the Express Checkout machines.

Much of the waste related to printing has to do with children printing at random. Often an adult will come to the library with a child, child given own set at own computer. Prints at random ande printed pages are never "calimed.
Many non-Greenwich residents use the library, perhaps as New Rocheele does library and printing should be for Town residents only.
