expressyourself.jpgExplore your creative side through books, art and games with Greenwich Library's Teen Summer Reading Program. A host of programs geared toward the Teen Summer Reading Program theme "Express Yourself" will be open to students throughout the summer at Greenwich Library.

The Teen Summer Reading Program, for teens entering grades 6 through 12, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games and incentives. Participants in the Teen Summer Reading Program do not have to register but are simply encouraged to read, read, read!

'Les Amants de Paris' at Byram Shubert Library

paris.jpgThe Byram Shubert Branch Library is pleased to present "Les Amants de Paris" featuring singer Kate Burt and pianist Jon Hunt on Thursday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the community room of the newly renovated Byram Shubert Library.

The program will include the songs of the cabarets of Paris. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call the branch at 203-531-0426.

sieling.jpgCome howl at an evening of musical comedy for the entire family when Greenwich Library presents Tom Sieling's "Howl at the Moon with a Wild Thing Tune!" on Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m., in the Cole Auditorium.

Sieling performs humorous songs about our natural world that engage the whole family. His performances are participatory, fun, lively and informative. Sieling writes and performs songs for children and adults and accompanies himself on guitar, banjo, harmonica and a drum machine. All songs include parts for the whole family.

Harry Potter Trivia July 16

on Thursday, July 16, at 5 p.m. in the Meeting Room.

Children ages 8 and up are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters to test their knowledge of the J.K. Rowling novels. No younger siblings please.

Cereal Box Collage Workshop July 25

frostedflakes33096.jpgGreenwich, CT -- Don't throw out those empty cereal boxes. An Artist's America author Michael Albert will present two Cereal Box Collage workshops in the Meeting Room on Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m. for K-3rd grade and 1 p.m. for 4th grade and up.

The workshop is part of Greenwich Library's Summer Reading Program. This year's Summer Reading Program theme is Be Creative at Your Library. The Summer Reading Club, for students grades K-5, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games, incentives and a summer full of special programs.

Airborne Jugglers.jpgGreenwich, CT -- The Airborne Jugglers will kickoff Greenwich Library's Summer Reading Program with a show guaranteed to amaze and delight on Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m. in the Cole Auditorium. The husband and wife team, Joe Murray and Susan Kirby, blend their expertise in juggling and comedy with a bit of wacky magic for an overall high energy, high impact show.

 

This year's Summer Reading Program theme is Be Creative at Your Library. The Summer Reading Club, for students grades K-5, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games, incentives and a summer full of special programs.

The scheduled screening of the award-winning documentary Wordplay on Friday, June 12 about Will Shortz and the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament will be followed by a special 32-min. mockumentary Wordploy!, a personalized spoof on the Tournament.
