skeleton.jpgEveryone has a past. Learn to uncover that of your ancestors, when Greenwich Library hosts "Skeletons in Your Closet," with guest host and genealogical expert Bill Stansfield on Saturday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m., in the Meeting Room. "Skeletons in Your Closet" is a program designed for beginner and intermediate researchers interested in learning the tricks of the genealogy trade.

Stansfield, who received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut and a Master of Arts degree from Fairfield University as a National Science Foundation scholar, has been a volunteer genealogical researcher at the Fairfield Historical Society for more than 10 years.

A native of Bridgeport, he also gives historical tours in Fairfield. Stansfield serves a moderator of monthly genealogy round tables at Bridgeport Library, Pequot Library and the Fairfield Senior Center. He is a member of a number of genealogical and historical groups in Connecticut and New York. His research has covered Putnam, Dutchess and Columbia counties in New York, as well as counties in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The program is free and open to all. For more information, please call Local History Librarian Carl White at 622-7948.
