May 5, Once, an Irish film about a Dublin guitarist/singer-songwriter who meets a female Czech pianist. As they get to know each other, she joins with him to put together a demo disc that will hopefully help him land a music contract. This quiet film is a gem and the central song won the Academy Award for Best Song this year. 85 minutes, rated R, in English and Czech.

The Greenwich Library Oral History Project has a historic offer for all Greenwich residents. Help celebrate the Project's 35th anniversary on Tuesday, June 17 by recording your memories with an experienced Oral History Project interviewer. Your interview will become part of the Project's permanent collection.

This is a one-time, open invitation for residents to share any recollections related to Greenwich, its people, places, or events from the past. Each participant will receive as a gift a copy of his or her interview on an audiocassette or CD.

Musicians from Marlboro Return

The Friends of the Greenwich Library's Cole Concert Series welcomes back the Musicians from Marlboro on Sunday, April 13 at 4:00 pm in the Cole Auditorium. Four touring ensembles- newly created each season- travel nationwide to share the inspired music-making heard each summer in Vermont at the Marlboro Music Festival. The thrill of discovering some of the world's most exciting young musicians on the brink of important careers has been delighting audiences from New York to California for over 40 years. The program will feature selections by Mozart, Britten and Dvorak.
