Historical Happenings

You might have some time during the holidays to look at the following family history research links.  They're all available under RESOURCES / LINKS on the Local History Web Page.

Ellis Island

This is a wonderful resource which provides history on the island, and tools to search passengers and ships for relatives who may have immigrated to the United States between 1892 and 1924.

The National Archives and Record Administration website is a powerful tool to search for family members using the Federal Census, military, immigration and naturalization records.

USGEN Web Project

This is a free database provided by volunteers.  The goal is to provide genealogical information for every county in every state of the United States.

These links are accessible from home via the Greenwich Library website at www.greenwichlibrary.org.
