Beginning Tuesday, October 26, at 2:00 pm in the second floor Meeting Room, Greenwich Library will inaugurate a new monthly series for members of the community who are hearing impaired. The Subtitled Films Series will show movies (and, eventually, episodes of old television programs) on DVD once a month using the English subtitle feature on that particular disc that's playing. This will enable members of the audience who are hearing impaired to follow along with the film.
Our first film to be shown in the new series on the aformentioned October 26th date will be Alfred Hitchcock's 1955 work, The Trouble With Harry, starring John Forsythe and Shirley MacLaine, and further details can be found here. Upcoming films in the series for the rest of the year will be two recent 2009 releases: Up In The Air with George Clooney (November 10th) and Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges (December 6th). For more information, including on which films will be age appropriate, contact me at (203) 622-7918.
