Prevent Blindness America

Prevent Blindness America descibe themselves as "the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization with the sole mission of preventing blindness and preserving sight."  They set up vision screenings for children and adults, sponsor research in preventing or controlling blindness, and offer workplace safety tips. PBA also tries to help important legislation for programs to assist the blind go through, and on March 9th, they'll be hosting the Eyes on Capitol Hill advocacy campaign, whose goals, including increased medical funding, are outlined here.  A national "Capitol Hill Call-In" , where people are asked to call their senators and representatives to make vision health a priority, will also be held.  For more about this organization, go to their home page here.  (Thanks AG!)
