Remember, if you work for a company on this list, you can have your donation to Greenwich Library doubled!
Cash
Cash gifts are the simplest and most direct means of support. As a donor, you are entitled to an income tax deduction for your gift. Checks should be made payable to the Greenwich Library and mailed to:
Greenwich Library
Trustees’ Office
101 West Putnam Avenue
Greenwich, CT 06830
Credit Card
Charging on your credit card via PayPal may be another simple way to help your library. As a donor, you are entitled to an income tax deduction for the entire amount of the gift. Just click on the button below to donate now!
Securities – Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds
Securities are always an excellent and popular method of making gifts. They have increased in value since you have owned them, which may result in greater tax savings. When you give the Library stock, for example, you may deduct the full current value, thereby avoiding the capital gains tax. Please ask your broker to contact the Trustees’ office for instructions prior to selling securities. For more information on donating securities, speak to a tax advisor. To donate securities, please contact Sarah Velardi, Development Associate at 203-622-7989 or send e-mail.
Life Insurance
Over time, a person’s life insurance coverage needs may change, as assets increase and the needs of dependents become less pressing. Life insurance policies, which have a cash value, may be donated to the Library. The owner receives an income tax deduction for the value of the policy on the date of the gift.
Bequests
The Library encourages you to include a bequest to the Library in your will and, if needed, you can provide a sample statement to include in your will to do so. If a will has already been signed, a simple codicil can be added, making a bequest to the Greenwich Library.
