Below you will find a list of apps that have been created by some of our database providers. Before downloading them please read the description of each. Most of these require at least two steps in order to get them to function properly.
BookPage app Updated monthly with reviews, author interviews and features that cover the best new books—and will help you discover your next great read.
EBSCOhost app from EBSCO Publishing Asks users to obtain "an authorization key" to your library's databases. To do this go to any Ebsco database, scroll to the bottom and click on the link that says EBSCOHOST iPhone/iPod touch application, enter the e-mail address associated with your device. You will then receive an e-mail with instructions to gain access.
Freegal To use Freegal, you need to be a registered cardholder of Greenwich Library. Once you have downloaded the App, the first thing you will see upon opening the App is a search box for libraries. In the United States, you can enter your home zip code, and a list will appear of current subscribing libraries within a 60 mile radius. You can also enter in the name of your library or the city in which your library's main branch is located. Once you complete this procedure, you will see a list of libraries to choose from. Choose the one where you have a valid card. If you do not have a valid card you must get one from a library that has the Freegal Service.
Access My Library app from Gale This doesn't work on Iphone but looks nice and works well on the iPad. Patrons need to choose location before searching. No authentication needed.
JungleSpeak app from Gale Cengage Learning The JungleSpeak app is based on Gale's acclaimed Grzimek's Animal Life, and includes animal sounds and videos, the ability to digitally color animal pictures, and the inclusion of detailed animal descriptions and quick facts.
Thousands of movies, television shows and music selections are now available for mobile and online access with hoopla.
Mango Languages Library Edition app from Mango Requires patrons to create an account via the page on our library website. Once this is done, use the account information to access the app. Now also available for Android.
Naxos Music Library Users must first create a student/member playlists account first. You can do that here. Once that is done, you can login to the Naxos app using the Username and Password you create.

OverDrive Download this direct to your device in order to check out and download eBooks and eAudio books directly to your device.
ReferenceUSA app for iPad Once you log in with your Greenwich or Perrot Library card you can use this to find new business opportunities, research executives and companies, track down addresses and phone numbers and search for jobs. App is for iPad only.
Teen Book Finder for iPad From the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), use the Teen Book Finder app to search award winning books for teens by title, author, genre and more. Make lists of your favorites and share on Facebook and Twitter.
Zinio apps Welcome to Greenwich Library's free online magazine service, brought to you by the Library, Recorded Books and Zinio.com!
Our premium-use subscription to Zinio gives our Library patrons access to nearly 200 of the most popular magazines using a Windows or Mac computer, as well as a wide variety of Apple iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows phones, tablets, and mobile devices using a free Zinio Reader app! Click the Zinio icon to the right to download the app for your device (Kindle Fire users (not HD), click here, and Blackberry PlayBook, click here).
Tip: The Zinio app cannot be used to browse the Library's free Zinio magazine collection. Library users must view and subscribe to magazines using the browser on a computer or smart device before selecting a magazine to read with the Zinio app!
