The Summer Reading Club, for students in grades K–6, is designed to encourage the joy of reading through activities, games, incentives and a summer full of special programs. Younger siblings can join the fun too with the Library's Read to Me program. Registration for Summer Reading begins Monday, June 17th, and continues through August 9th.

Join us for our drop-in story and craft. The toddlers are aging and we are offering a Story/Craft program again for children ages 2 1/2-5. Come enjoy some fun stories, songs, movement and crafts as every other week we explore a different theme. Today we read about DINOSAURS!

Join us at 3:45 with the very talented Airborne Jugglers. Their performance marks the official start of our Summer Reading Club. Joe Murray and Susan Kirby are world class performers who have travelled the globe entertaining audiences for more than 20 years. "Highlights of their professional career include performances in Japan, Europe, The Bahamas, Aruba, and The Cayman Islands. Appearances at: The Kennedy Center, Los Angeles Olympics, Special Olympics World Games and entertaining U.S. Military Troops at home and abroad." Come enjoy the fun! Refreshments will be available.
Sign-up today and join the Summer Reading Club and start earning small prizes and chances for our grand prizes! Remember, the more you read, the better your chances at winning one of our grand prizes.

The Airborne Jugglers who performed at 3:45 will hold a half-hour workshop for registered participant! You, too, can learn how to juggle, how to balance a spinning plate on a pole. So, come join the fun! Space is limited to 30 so remember to sign up at the Library or call us at 203-622-6883 to reserve a spot. The children will build an enormous cave and decorate it with their own original paintings and enjoy other fun activities. The start of an action-packed teen series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Paul Evans, Michael Vey:the Prisoner of Cell 25 is about "a fourteen-year old who has Tourette's syndrome and special electric powers, finds there are others like him, and must rely on his powers to save himself and the others from a diabolical group seeking to control them." This high-energy program is performed by a Scienceteller (part Scientist and part Storyteller) to create a fun, unexpected, and unforgettable experience where science is presented through stories. It is with this synergy of science and storytelling that Sciencetellers engages the audience, by combining these seemingly different ideas and using the resulting reaction to educate and entertain! The Bugs of Blackwood tells the story of Benjamin the bug who is accidentally brought in from the garden to a house and his bug family sets out to rescue him! By using experiments with air pressure, water, chemicals, and much more; see if Benjamins friends can save him before all hope is squashed!
