Published to coincide with the August 9, 2014 fortieth anniversary of Richard Nixon's resignation from office, John Dean, a key player in the Nixon administration, divulges the full story of the Watergate break-in and cover-up, and discloses Nixon's part in it. Based on previously unavailable recordings, The Nixon Defense connects the dots between what the popular understanding of Watergate is and what actually happened. Mr. Dean speaks at Greenwich Library on the release date of this revealing new book.

John W. Dean was legal counsel to President Nixon during the Watergate scandal, and his Senate testimony lead to Nixon's resignation. In 2006, Dean testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee investigating George W. Bush's NSA warrant-less wiretap program and his commentary is widely read. John DeanHe is the New York Times bestselling author of Blind Ambition, Broken Government, Conservatives Without Conscience and Worse Than Watergate.


Books will be available for purchase and signing through Diane's Books. This series is open to all at no charge, but seating in the Cole Auditorium is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open at 6:30pm.
