Children's Events


Children's events include musical productions, puppeteers, plays and other types of programs targeted toward children ages 3 to 8. Performances are held 4 to 5 times per year in the Cole Auditorium on Saturday afternoons. Tickets are free and are available on a "first come first serve" basis starting at noon on the day of the performance in the lobby of the Cole Auditorium. Performances begin at 2 pm and usually last 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Please contact Kirsten Pitts or Julia Dunn for more information.

Animal Embassy - Spooktacular Animal Adventure!

The Friends and Staff of the Cos Cob Library welcome Animal Embassy for a special Halloween program to see and discuss some animals that haunt our dreams, make our "skin crawl," and the hair stand up on the back of our necks! They'll discuss animals that are at home in swamps and in shadows and who prowl under the moonlit sky. We will learn about these animals and move from fear to respect to appreciation. Some animals we might meet include the Pink-toed Tarantula, an Emperor Scorpion, a Sinaloan Milk snake, and a Boa Constrictor. Come in costume but don't scare the animals! "Pete the Cat" Music Program with Al deCant

The Staff and Friends of Cos Cob Library host the singing principal, Al decant as he presents a program of songs that celebrate PETE, THE CAT! Al will take you on a musical journey that promotes the joy of reading. He plays guitar, drums,and rhythm instruments. So come and enjoy and participate in a fun hour of music for the whole family! No registration is necessary. This program is presented free to the public.
